Discount Policy

1. Introduction

This Discount Policy explains how you can earn discounts on your CountriesDB subscription through attribution (10% discount), affiliate referrals (5% per paid referral), and additional projects (5% per additional project beyond the first). Combined discounts cannot exceed 25%.

2. Attribution Requirements

To qualify for the 10% attribution discount, you must:

2.1. Public Website Link

Include a visible, clickable link to CountriesDB on your public, Google-accessible website where you use our service. The link must:

• Be accessible to search engines (not behind a login or paywall)
• Be visible to users (not hidden with CSS or other methods)
• Link directly to https://countriesdb.com
• Not include rel="nofollow" or similar attributes that prevent search engines from following the link
• Be placed in a location that makes sense contextually (e.g., near where you use our widgets or API, in your footer, or on an "About" or "Credits" page)

2.2. Link Text

The link text should clearly indicate that you're using CountriesDB. Acceptable examples include:

• "Powered by CountriesDB"
• "Country data provided by CountriesDB"
• "Location data from CountriesDB"
• "Using CountriesDB for country selection"

3. Affiliate Referral Discount

You can earn 5% discount per affiliate through our affiliate referral program:

• 1 affiliate = 5% discount
• 2 affiliates = 10% discount
• 3 affiliates = 15% discount
• 4 affiliates = 20% discount
• 5 affiliates = 25% discount (maximum)

3.1. Referral Requirements

To qualify for affiliate referral discounts:

• Paid subscriptions only — Referrals must have an active paid subscription (free/DevMode accounts do not count)
• Email verification — You must contact us using your account email address and provide the email address of the referred user
• Active subscription required — The referral discount is only valid while the referred user maintains their paid subscription. If they cancel or downgrade to a free plan, the discount is removed
• Cumulative counting — Referrals are counted cumulatively (e.g., if you have 3 active paid referrals, you receive 15% discount)

4. Additional Project Discount

You can earn 5% discount per additional project you create in your account (beyond your first project). This discount is designed to prevent users from creating multiple accounts to refer themselves.

4.1. Project Requirements

To qualify for additional project discounts:

• Paid subscriptions only — Additional projects must be associated with a paid subscription plan. Projects on free/DevMode plans do not count toward this discount
• First project = 0% discount (no discount for your first project)
• Second project = 5% discount (if on a paid plan)
• Third project = 10% discount (5% × 2 additional paid projects)
• Fourth project = 15% discount (5% × 3 additional paid projects)
• And so on...

This discount stacks with attribution and referral discounts. The total combined discount cannot exceed 25% (see Combining Discounts).

5. How to Apply

To receive the 10% attribution discount:

1. Add the attribution link to your public website following the requirements above
2. Contact us using the email address associated with your CountriesDB account
3. Provide the URL where the attribution link appears on your website
4. Wait for validation — we will manually verify that your attribution link meets all requirements

Once validated, we will apply the 10% discount to your subscription. The discount will remain active as long as the attribution link remains on your website and continues to meet our requirements.

To apply for affiliate referral discounts, contact us using your account email address and provide the email addresses of the referred users.

Additional project discounts are automatically applied when you create additional projects in your account (beyond your first project).

6. Combining Discounts

The attribution discount can be combined with our affiliate referral discount (5% per affiliate) and additional project discount (5% per additional project beyond the first), but the total combined discount cannot exceed 25%.

Examples:

• 5 affiliates = 25% discount (maximum)
• Attribution (10%) + 3 affiliates (15%) = 25% discount (capped at maximum)
• Attribution (10%) + 2 affiliates (10%) = 20% discount
• Attribution (10%) + 1 affiliate (5%) = 15% discount
• Attribution (10%) + 1 affiliate (5%) + 1 additional project (5%) = 20% discount
• 2 affiliates (10%) + 2 additional projects (10%) = 20% discount

7. Discount Application

Discounts are applied manually after validation. They take effect on your next billing cycle after approval.

8. Verification and Compliance

We reserve the right to:

• Periodically verify that attribution links remain active and compliant
• Request updates if your website structure changes
• Remove the discount if the attribution link is removed or no longer meets requirements

If your attribution link is removed or becomes non-compliant, we will notify you and the discount will be removed from your next billing cycle.
